A doctor of geology and a 2004 inductee into the Astronaut Hall of Fame, Dr. Sullivan will be sharing her remarkable point of view on two upcoming Hurtigruten cruises, one along the stunning coast of Norway and another to remote Antarctica. Dr. Kathy Sullivan is the first American woman to walk in space. She has a degree in earth sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a doctorate in geology from Dalhousie University. One of the first women selected into the NASA astronaut corps in 1978 and a veteran of three Space Shuttle missions, Dr. Sullivan was inducted into the Astronaut Hall of Fame in 2004. More recently, she was the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
