Spain has more miles of high speed train railway than any other European country. Additionally Spain had 49 Unesco world heritage sites in 2021, and Portugal 17, while the combination of the countries has another 50 sites on the combined tentative list including gems like the Rioja wine country, the olive grove landscapes of Andalusia, the old city of Lisbon and much more. Recommendations along the way for the best dates, as well as our favorite hotels and experiences for each area will be mentioned.
