Discover China’s Wild Side
Tue January 23, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm EST
If you haven’t thought about China as a destination for nature travelers, join us for a webinar that will make you think again! Expedition Leader Court Whelan leads us on a virtual journey to China’s wild side. In the mist-veiled mountains of Sichuan, rare and endangered wildlife roams the bamboo forest. On a safari into a remote nature reserve, go in search of takin, serow, blue sheep, golden pheasant and more. Moon bears and wild pandas live here, too, though they are extremely elusive. You’ll see lots of pandas, however, at China’s famous giant panda research and breeding bases, and Court’s close-up photos will delight you. China is rich in subjects for nature photographers—in addition to pandas and wildlife, landscapes offer a panoply of photo opportunities, from clear rivers coursing through deep gorges to the famous travertine waterfalls of Jiuzhaigou National Park. A cultural highlight is the Terracotta Army at Xi’an.
