Come eye to eye with charming beluga whales on our Arctic summer adventure in Churchill, Manitoba. Your host for this virtual journey is Expedition Leader Eddy Savage, a Canadian naturalist guide who reveals just how close we get to these inquisitive white mammals that are as curious about us as we are about them. Each season, more than 3,000 belugas enter the mouth of the Churchill River from Hudson Bay, in clear view from our motorized rafts—or paddle among them in a kayak for an even more intimate encounter! Belugas aren’t the only wildlife flourishing around Churchill in the summertime, though. We explore the tundra and boreal forest in search of caribou, Arctic fox, Arctic hare and polar bears, which we see regularly. Migratory birds and wildflowers are highlights, too, as the Canadian North bursts forth with life under the exuberant summer sun. Churchill, a former fur-trading post, is also rich in Arctic heritage and indigenous culture, complementing our nature focus.
