Join Court Whelan, Ph.D., Nat Hab’s Director of Sustainability and Conservation Travel, for a webinar exploring one of the most miraculous phenomena in nature — the annual monarch butterfly migration. Every year millions of monarchs migrate to their winter breeding grounds in the Central Highlands of Mexico. Monarchs are the focus of Court’s doctoral dissertation, and he’ll share his in-depth knowledge of the butterflies, their migration, and more than 15 years of experience guiding, researching and photographing monarchs to give you an intricate understanding of this familiar yet wondrous creature. Take a breather from your daily routine and learn how this tiny insect, weighing less than a gram, navigates, orients, and “hibernates” using only its genetic code and astounding resiliency to survive, and thrive, throughout the year.
